On Tuesday (September 24th) up-and-coming Baltimore rapper Bandhunta Izzy released a video of his remake of 50 Cent‘s classic 1999 single “How to Rob.” Izzy even went as far as to recruit The Madd Rapper, aka D-Dot, who was featured on the original. On the remake, Izzy threatens to rob a wide spectrum of contemporary rappers, from 6ix9ine to YMW Melly to DaBaby.

After the song was released, 50 took to Instagram to salute Izzy for the idea, adding “I like this…hard work will beat talent when talent ain’t working.”
The original track drew the ire of many names mentioned, including Ghostface Killah, Raekwon, and Big Pun. The most notable was JAY-Z, who infamously responded at Hot 97’s annual Summer Jam. The record was to be featured on 50’s Power of the Dollar album, which was eventually shelved by Columbia Records.
Bandhunta Izzy’s 2018 mixtape Code Blue can be found on major streaming services. Listen to Bandhunta Izzy’s “How to Rob” then check out 50 Cent’s classic below.
