Willow Smith is on a tear, folks. Nevermind the recent stage-shares with Erykah Badu and Joey Bada$$ in DC or the fact that her output has been more prolific, and more importantly, more refreshing than many of your favorite destroyers-of-all-genre. Today she strikes again with the wavy wonder “Wit A Indigo” and its Avatar-leaning visual accompaniment. The track follows the vein of cooled-out compositions we’ve heard from Young Will over the years, dicing up Soulection-y sounds with flow and melody.
And I know the Okay-universe isn’t all too keen on this next generation in the Smith dynasty, but at 14 and 16, they’re just beginning to show the makings of dominant careers in the industry, even if they’re still fledgling, and even though y’all have yet to warm up. Which is fine. They’ve still got plenty of time to show you just how deep their creative currents run. So let it be known: there is no stopping the torrential Willow & big bro Jaden, and we can’t wait to see and hear what’s next. Watch as Willow & Co. wax cerebrally on the tripped out boardwalks of Venice Beach in the video for “Wit A Indigo” below.
