This week, The White House is opening it doors for the inaugural South By South Lawn festival, where movers and shakers in civic engagement are gathering to put their best ideas and actions forward. One of the week's more high-profile guests (excluding, you know, The President) is the mighty Common. While in attendance, the Chicago rapper blessed The White House with a Tiny Desk Concert you'll never forget; the very first performance to have not been recorded behind Bob Boilen's NPR office desk.

For his first time out on the consistently-dope series, Com brought along some of the crew; Robert Glasper mans the keys, Karriem Riggins holds down the kit, Keyon Harold blows his horn, Derrick Hodge comes through with the low-end and the vocal freak himself, Bilal, joins mid-performance to assist with some astrally-projected squalls. They perform Common's classic "I Used To Love H.E.R." along with selections from his forthcoming 11th studio album, Black America Again (possibly the only place you'll see or hear the cuts before the album's November arrival.)
