Tracy Morgan To Return To TV For Jordan Peele Comedy Series

Aside from directing his first ever feature film (and a horror film at that), Jordan Peele is also readying a return to TV with fellow comedian Tracy Morgan.

TBS has ordered a 10 episode comedy series created by Peele and John Carcieri (Vice Principals), which will feature Morgan in its starring role.

The currently untitled series follows Morgan's character, also named Tracy, who returns home after 15 years in prison, and is introduced to a new set of problems upon being released. For one, the Brooklyn neighborhood he grew up in has been gentrified and two, he is the father of twin sons he never knew existed.

In addition, his former girlfriend is married to a nice, successful white man who is helping raise the boys. Wanting nothing more than to connect with his kids, but having neither the money to support them nor himself, Tracy falls back on the skills he learned in prison to make ends meet while treading on unfamiliar territory, the official series description reads.

"Tracy and Jordan are two of today's most sought after and authentically funny comedians, and this show captures all the hilarity you would expect from this brilliant duo," Brett Weitz, executive vice president of programming for TBS, said in a statement. "TBS is becoming a home for the most creative and diverse comedy creators in the business, and Tracy and Jordan are a perfect fit for this network."

It'll be great to see Morgan back on TV, considering that this will be his first series regular role since 30 Rock ended in 2013, and since the 2014 accident that left him with life threatening injuries.

But a combination like Morgan and Peele? Surely this is going to be an enjoyable project that provides good laughs and necessary commentary.

Morgan, Peele and Carcieri will executive produce alongside Eric and Kim Tannenbaum, and Joel Zadak.
