A man opened fire at a restaurant in a Florida mall on Sunday where a Madden NFL 19 tournament was happening.

David Katz, 24, killed two people and injured 10 others before shooting himself, according to ESPN.com. Katz, who was also a gamer and from Baltimore, used a handgun during the shooting which occurred at Chicago Pizza.

EA Sports, the video game company behind the Madden franchise issued a statement on the shooting, calling it "a senseless act of violence that we strongly condemn."

We are grateful for the first responders immediately on the scene. We support our partners at EA Sports and will continue to monitor developments with local law enforcement."
