The previous TMZ report alleged the rapper was critically wounded due to a robbery attempt. Though the footage has not been made public, it shows four men approach the home around 4:30 a.m. and sneaking to the back of the residence. Then three of the men walk back to the front of the home, the fourth “walked in the backdoor” with no cameras capturing him. This suspect is then seen exiting through the front door.

Multiple shots were reportedly fired inside the home “and they only struck Pop Smoke.” He was then rushed to a Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and was later pronounced dead.

The robbery narrative was painted because the address for the Hollywood Hills home was shared in a photo of gifts on social media. Additionally, he posted another photo hours before the shooting of himself and a friend in a car, the friend held large amounts of cash. TMZ reports the sources who have seen the surveillance footage shared “the person inside the house—presumably the shooter—did not carry anything out.”
