Pop Smoke was shot and killed by two men who entered his home in the Hollywood Hills.

It’s a tragic day in hip-hop. Pop Smoke, the 20-year-old rapper best known for his hit singles “Welcome to the Party” and “Dior” was shot and killed in a home he was staying at in Beverly Hills, California. TMZ broke the story. Β

As the news filtered out, fans and artists responded with shock and sadness. Pop Smoke started rapping in 2018; his single “Welcome to the Party” dropped in the spring of 2019. He was only a year into his career. And things were only improving. His latest album, Welcome to the Woo 2, was released earlier in the month and debuted at No. 7 on Billboard’s Top 200 chart.

He also had songs with Travis Scott and Bronx rapper Lil Tjay that were buzzing.
