Most of you know that we can just about always count on Nardwuar for a thought-provoking and well-researched chat with some of music’s brightest talents. But what you may have forgotten is just how long dude’s been at it. Today he provides us with a healthy reminder, digging up two archived interviews; one with Destiny’s Child, the other with a still-adolescent Solange.
Both interviews date back to 2002, presumably from when Solange was opening for big sis and the crew on tour. Neither of them last more than two minutes, but they do offer a glimpse at pre-fame Solange and a very brief glance at pre-Mrs. Carter Bey. In fact, she never even gets on the mic. Kelly holds down the interview before getting whisked away to the stage. On the tail-end of a historic year for the Knowles sisters, this should be a nice jog down the lane to remind yourself of just how for they’ve come over the years.
Watch Nardwuar’s freshly-unearthed interview with Solange and Destiny’s Child down below. Hold tight for more drops from The Human Serviette in the new year and jump back to revisit some of his best chats of 2016.
