Get A Taste Of Kendrick Lamar & The Game's New Collaboration
It’s been over a decade since The Game dropped his aughts-era classic The Documentary, and it now seems as if the Los Angeles MC is working to stage a major return to form with his upcoming seventh album (and what’s more, he’s calling it The Documentary 2). Late last month we got an early taste of the disc with his Drake-annointed single “100” and over the weekend a few snippets of studio footage made their way online–ones that indicate an oncoming Kendrick Lamar feature.
In the brief clips, which were posted to Instagram, we hear both Kendrick’s trademark machine gun rapid flow over a finger-snapping beat and singing atop what sounds like a solemn, gospel dirge. The Game’s new LP is also said to be packing production work from the likes of Pharrell, Dr. Dre, Timbaland, Swizz Beats and Alchemist, meaning that we very well may be hearing snippets of Kendrick rhyming over his Aftermath mentor once more. The Documentary 2 is expected to drop in August–listen to the brief Kdot flares below and stay tuned for more.
