FX and Hulu’s Malfunction: The Dressing Down of Janet Jackson will air on November 19.

Janet Jackson’s wardrobe malfunction will be the topic of a new FX and Hulu documentary.

Titled Malfunction: The Dressing Down of Janet Jackson the documentary will retell the story of the 2004 halftime show that shook the core of the entertainment industry. When many think of this evening, they recall the moment in which Justin Timberlake exposed Jackson’s breast.

Jackson’s career was forever impacted by the live incident which was seen by millions of viewers, the damage was irreversible. Janet never publicly addressed the evening, Timberlake has gone on to live a successful life as an acclaimed musical figure.

Per Deadline, the documentary will “examine the racial and cultural currents that collided on the Super Bowl stage, and explore how the incident impacted one of the most successful pop musicians in history.”

Additionally, the doc includes rare footage and interviews with people who witnessed the evening firsthand. NFL and MTV executives in addition to those who were a part of the television broadcast are a part of the documentary. New reporting from The Times, insights from “music industry insiders,” critics and members of the Jackson family flesh out the fallout, and Janet Jackson’s fall from grace. CBS’ former chairman and CEO Les Moonves’s involvement will also be addressed.

Immediately following the release of The New York TimesFraming Britney Spears documentary, Timberlake released a public apology to both Spears and Jackson. He made it clear in his apology that he’d “failed” both women who he cares for and respects.

Malfunction: The Dressing Down of Janet Jackson produced by The New York Times and Red Arrow’s Left/Right will premiere on November 19. Jodi Gomes directed and produced the film, she previously directed A+E Networks’ The Jacksons: A Family Dynasty.
