The Chicago rapper was found dead in his Los Angeles home in January.

The cause of rapper Fredo Santana's death earlier this year has now been revealed, according to a recent report in theChicago Tribune.

In January, the Chicago rapper was found dead in his Los Angeles home. According to an autopsy report, the Los Angeles County coroner has ruled that cardiovascular disease was the main cause of death, in addition to idiopathic epilepsy.

The rapper had been given a prescription of Keppra in order to treat his seizures and was reportedly suffering from them on a monthly basis that "tended to appear as a cluster of seizures" leading up to his death.

In October, Santana posted on his Instagram that he was being treated for liver and kidney failure.

Santana released his debut album Trappin Ain’t Dead in 2013 with features from Kendrick Lamar and fellow Chicago artist Chief Keef.

He died at 27.
