While speaking with his friend and photographer Mathieu Bitton from his home, Chappelle said that the coronavirus pandemic has resulted in everything being closed in Yellow Springs except for grocery stores. He then jokingly compared it to The Walking Dead before jokinng further, "Anyone you see out is trying to take a walk or buy heroin."

Elsewhere during the conversation, Chappelle is asked by Bitton if he knows of anyone in Yellow Springs that has contracted the virus.

"Man, not a sniffle out here, bro" Chappelle responded. "It's kind of the weird thing about it — I'm ducking something that I — I don't even know if this shit exists. I'm just doing it because what else am I gonna do?"

Chappelle was slated to headline Netflix's weeklong "Netflix Is A Joke" comedy festival scheduled to take place from April 27 to May 3. However, the event has been postponed.

The comedian was honored with the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor back in October last year. The event aired in its entirety on PBS in January (and has since been made available to watch online). He also won the Best Comedy Album at this year's Grammys, making it the third year in a row he's won.
