Young Greatness, Rapper Behind the Hit "Moolah," Shot & Killed in New Orleans

Young Greatness was 34.

Rapper Young Greatness waskilled in a shootingon Sunday night (October 28), according to TV stationWDSU. He was 34. The rapper, who's real name was Theodore Jones, was best known for the 2016hit single "Moolah," which went gold.

Young Greatness was in the parking lot of Waffle House when two people came behind him and shot him. The two people then proceeded to take his car.

Young Greatness was born in New Orleans but moved to Houston after Hurricane Katrina. The rapperwould go on to be associatedwith crews like Quality Control Records, which released "Moolah," and Cash Money.

Jeanine Rose, the mother of Young Greatness, talked toWDSUabout the killing. She said YoungGreatness was in New Orleans for a funeral. She also said at the time of the shooting he was face timingwith his manager.

Young Greatness released "Moolah," which was produced by Jazzy Pha, in early 2015. But the melodic trap anthem didn't start to pick up steam until the top of 2016. The song would eventually hit the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at 85.
