&More just dropped their debut visual.
Chill Moody and Donn T of &More just released their debut music video for “My Own Light.”
Just in time for the waning moments of Mother’s Day, the opening sequence of the video features a cameo appearance from Donn T and Questlove‘s mother, Jacqui Thompson who play the role of Ethel Bobcat in an opening performance from Grammy award-winning spoken word poet, J. Ivy.
“This is story, a testimony about a woman we all love,” Ivy told Okayplayer on the colorful tale of the fictitious character who is namesake to &More’s debut album, Ethel Bobcat due later this year.
“Jacqui Thompson’s presence embodies what we see in our minds when we think of an ‘Ethel Bobcat.’ She was caring and embraced me from first time we met as if we knew each other for years,” Chill said.
The video also introduces Philly producer Jacqueline Constance, who shapes the atmosphere around J. Ivy’s narrative.
“We want folks to get from the gate that this is one piece of the larger story,” Donn T told Okayplayer.
&More’s debut music video, directed by Aaron Lemle, is produced by the same Emmy Award-winning team responsible for the PBS televison series, “Articulate.” Last month, Donn T appeared as a guest on the show which also highlighted an &More rehearsal from The Boom Room in Philly.
Donn T and Chill Moody made their industry debut as &More during Grammy Week 2018 at The Roots Jam Session in January.
