The (formerly) Amazon-exclusive project features live takes of three songs from the duo’s 2019 collaborative album, Bandana, backed by Brooklyn’s own, El Michels Affair. Rekindling the energy from their Tiny Desk appearance, the group lights up “Gat Damn,” “Freestyle Shit,” and “Palmolive,” reworking the Bandana standouts with a seasoned soul and funk ensemble.

After years of anticipation and a predictably lengthy sample clearance period, Bandana arrived in the summer of 2019 via RCA/Keep Cool, marking the first major-label release for both rapper and producer. In an interview from late last year, Madlib confirmed a third collaborative album with Gibbs was in the works, along with new projects produced for Black Star, Fly Anakin, and Westside Gunn.
