On Tuesday (October 30th) Kanye West announced he was distancing himself from politics. In a series of tweets, the rapper said that he realized he was being used to “spread messages” he didn’t “believe in.” Kanye fans who want to enjoy his music guilt free let out a sigh of relief.

One person who seemed especially pleased is longtime friend and collaborator Talib Kweli. The veteran rapper posted Kanye’s tweet on his Instagram, with the caption #Welcomeback.

Then Kweli revealed something interesting: on Instagram, he posted a clip of a song that he and Kanye were working on. In the post Kweli revealed that the song was from an album that they started doing together in January 2018.
