Erykah Badu hit the stage to pay homage to Fela Kuti.

Erykah Badugraced the stage with a DJ set at The Box in New York City Thursday, rocking traditional African hair plates while honoringthe late, legendaryFela Kuti. Baducurated the latest installment of the ongoing Fela Kuti series Fela Kuti Box Set #4 released in limited quantities earlier this month.

The fourth edition in the archived series follows releases from Questlove, GingerBaker and Brian Eno. This latest set features seven personal essays from Badu, one for each album included, because in Badu’s own words, “Fela Kuti is a fucking genius.”
