Report: Buddie From Dem Franchize Boyz Passes Away From Cancer

Buddie, a member of Atlanta rap group Dem Franchize Boyz, has passed away.

According to a report in REVOLT, the rapper, born Gerald Tiller from complications due to stage 4 cancer.

The group posted a statement to their official Instagram page on Sunday, with the caption, “R.I.P Buddie you Will be Missed,” they captioned the post.

Dem Franchize Boyz comprised of Buddie, Bernard “Jizzal Man” Leverette, Maurice “Parlae” Gleaton, and Jamall “Pimpin” Willingham, to Universal Records and released their self-titled album in 2004 which included their Billboard-charting hit single, “White Tee.” The group went on to sign to Jermaine Dupri‘s So So Def label the following year and released their popular hit, “Lean wit It, Rock wit It.”

Dupri appeared to confirm that Buddie’s death was caused by cancer with a post on IG in which he wrote, “‘They call me Doctor Doc
I prescribe what a n–a need’ #ripbuddy may your soul rest easy #demfranchiseboyz. #f–kcancer.”
