Wrestling Icon Ric Flair Out Of Surgery After Medically Induced Coma

UPDATE: Ric Flair is out of surgery and resting after being hospitalized. Although representatives did not offer any details on the surgery, the iconic wrestler was in a medically-induced coma according to TMZ.

The WWE Hall of Famer was hospitalized and admitted to an intensive care unit over the weekend.

Late Monday morning, Melinda Morris Zanoni, the CEO of Legacy Talent LLC and representative for Ric Flair, took to Twitter to ask fans of the wrestler for support.

“Are u a Fan/Friend of Ric Flair? If so, we need prayers & positive energy for our Living Legend as he is dealing w/some tough medical issues,” Zanoni wrote.

Flair, who is currently hospitalized near his home in Atlanta, was initially getting checked up on Saturday morning for heart-related issues, with Zanoni saying that the situation was “routine monitoring.” The 68-year-old has been crowned a Heavyweight Champion 16 times and is the only two-time inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame, once by himself and once with his former team The Four Horsemen. Rappers such as Pusha T and Killer Mike have paid homage to Flair, with the latter even naming a song after him.

The famed wrestled has an ESPN 30 for 30 documentary that takes an inside look at his career set to air on November 7. A synopsis of the documentary is as follows:
