Premiering in December, The Best Man: The Final Chapters reintroduces characters from the beloved Malcolm D. Lee-directed film series.

On upcoming Peacock series The Best Man: The Final Chapters, the gang is back with 'unfinished business.' After nearly 25 years since the debut of Malcolm D. Lee-directed romantic comedy The Best Man, an all-star cast of Morris Chestnut, Melissa De Sousa, Taye Diggs, Regina Hall, Terrence Howard, Sanaa Lathan, Nia Long and Harold Perrineau have returned.

The eight-episode series will chronicle how "relationships evolve and past grievances resurface in the unpredictable stages of midlife crisis meets midlife renaissance" between Harper (Diggs), Robyn (Lathan), Jordan (Long), Lance (Chestnut), Quentin (Howard), Shelby (De Sousa), Candace (Hall) and Murch (Perrineau).

A Christmas themed sequel, The Best Man Holiday, released on November 15, 2013. Lee returns as director, executive producer and showrunner for the Peacock series, which premieres December 22.

“Given the moment that we are in, this is the perfect time to revisit Harper, Lance, Murch, Quentin, Jordan, Robyn, Candace and Shelby and go on the wild, emotional, hilarious ride with them, as they deal with their own journeys through parenting, activism, old love, new love and the complexities of being Black in 21st Century America," Lee told Essence.

"Priorities have shifted, friendships have gone through growing pains,” added co-executive producer Dayna Lynne North. “This limited series will expand on the themes established in The Best Man franchise – love, friendship, faith, forgiveness, and personal growth – all filtered through a beautifully Black lens. Much like it was on my previous series Insecure, friendship as foundation is also a core theme.”
