Every Trailer and Update from DC Comics' FanDome 2021

From first-looks at long-brewing big-screen treatments for Black AdamThe Flash, and, of course, The Batman, to new details about highly-anticipated animated and live-action projects (Static Shock, for once, not excluded,) DC's FanDome 2021 plotted out an expansive slate of incoming TV, film, and comic releases.

DC's FanDome 2021 event has come and gone, but it's left us with plenty to look forward to from the legacy comic giant. This year's installment of the one-stop for all of DC's TV, film, and comic projects was led by the long-awaited trailer for Robert Pattinson's take on The Dark Knight. But to stop at The Batman would be shorting yourself on the dozens of big and small screen DC titles ahead, many of which have been in development for years.

After almost a decade of pitching and discussing the project, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson finally took flight as Black Adam in a brief clip from the long-awaited film. Recently entering post-production, Ezra Miller's lightning-quick run as The Flash now has a bit of eye candy to hold you over until it hits the box office at some point next year. And there's even some behind-the-scenes footage of sequels to Aquaman and Shazam!, each of which earned their share of critical and pedestrian praise in series-starting films.

As for DC's ever-expanding slate of TV titles for HBO Max and WB, there are fourth seasons in the works for both Doom Patrol and Titans, as well as a first official trailer for John Cena's breakout role as The Peacemaker. The "Arrowverse" is, naturally, only growing larger and more complicated with Naomi, a new series from Ava Duvernay about a young teen with the ability to jump from one pocket of the multiverse to another. A one-off Batgirl film is headed to HBO with In The Heights star Leslie Grace taking on the role of Barbara Gordon for the caped crime-fighting family's next chapter. DC also shared the artwork for a movie centered on their Latinx superhero, Blue Beetle.

On the historically stellar animated side of DC's docket, a new season of Young Justice has been announced. There's also a preview of the incoming battle-royale-video-game-turned-film, Injustice, and a few more details on Caped Crusader, the noir-ish return of Bruce Wayne's early years in the suit from Batman: The Animated Series creator Bruce Timm, J.J.Abrams, and Matt Reeves, which will feature a very lo-fi Batman before all of the tech wizardry afforded by Wayne's mile-high bank account. And finally, following the fan-driver campaign for a Static Shock film, DC announced the high-voltage superhero would be appearing in not one. but two, forthcoming projects. Denys Cowan, co-founder of Milestone Comics, confirmed Michael B. Jordan was producing a live-action Static Shock film and that an animated crossover of all Milestone properties was also in development. If it sounds like a lot, well, that's because it is. But DC will have to keep the film and TV titles coming at a pretty remarkable clip to fend off a perpetually productive rival in Marvel.
