Terence Nance in Talks to Direct Upcoming 'Space Jam' Sequel
Warner Bros. have their eye on the Random Acts of Flyness visionary
With an HBO series in the bag and the critical adoration of the film world at his back, director Terence Nance is set to take flight like the Jumpman himself.
According to The Wrap, Nance has begun advanced negotiations to direct LeBron James in the highly-anticipated Space Jam sequel. The project has steadily gained steam since James signed a production deal for the upcoming reboot more than two years ago. Since then, Justin Lin (Fast and Furious) has entered and exited talks for the director’s chair, and a script has reportedly materialized from Andrew Dodge (Bad Words,) though James will need to approve of the script before officially signing on as captain of the Tune Squad, defender of Earth. No word on whether we can expect a Bill Murray sighting.
Nance’s Random Acts of Flyness made its debut last night on Not Just TV to waves of adoration. It’ll return with its second of six episodes next Friday at midnight. Stay tuned (tooned?) for details in the weeks and months ahead.
