Kanye West's First Gap Piece Was A $200 Puffer Coat that Sold Out Instantly

Kanye West's first Gap collection piece has arrived.

In honor of his 44th birthday, rapper/politician/designer Kanye West's collaboration with the Gap has officially launched. On Tuesday, the site officially opened pre-orders on the "Round Jacket." The shiny cobalt blue jacket is made of recycled nylon and comes with a $200 price tag, and sold out immediately. According to a press release, successful buyers will get their hands on the jackets this fall.

Last week, Kanye was spotted by paparazzi in Los Angeles while wearing the jacket. Online sleuths quickly determined the photos were a part of the official rollout. The Gap's official Instagram page now features the 'YZY' Gap-stylized logo as its profile picture.

In addition to the jacket's release, a number of in-person exhibitions will take place to promote the piece. Floating projections of the jacket will go up in four separate locations in New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago. New York's New Museum, Los Angeles' Grammy Museum, and a Walgreens in Chicago's Bucktown neighborhood will be three of the twelve locations.

Last June, Kanye announced the new collection with the Gap, promising to "develop the new line to deliver modern, elevated basics for men, women and kids at accessible price points." According to Refinery29, shoppers who accessed the pre-order were prompted to list their top, bottom, and shoe size for registration. If you couldn't get your hands on any Yeezy pieces this time around, fret not. It's safe to say that more pieces from the collection will soon be on the way.

Later this year, Netflix and TIME Studios will release a multi-part Kanye West documentary directed by former collaborators Coodie & Chike, featuring never-before-seen home videos and other rare footage of the producer's childhood and early career.
