Donald Glover is getting a Spider-Man movie, as the actor, comedian and artist will produce and star in a film on villain Hypn0-Hustler.

Donald Glover is officially getting the Spider-Man project of his dreams. The Hollywood Reporter has shared that the actor, comedian and Grammy-winning vocalist will star in and producer a film on Marvel supervillain Hypno-Hustler. While the production is still in its beginning stages with no director or script, Myles Murphy, son of Eddie Murphy, is attached to write the screenplay.

First appearing in Marvel Comics in 1978, Hypno-Hustler is a villain with the ability to hypnotize victims with his guitar. When not in disguise, Hypno-Hustler is known as Antoine Desloin, lead singer of a band called the Mercy Killers, who robs audience members under their spell. Hypno-Hustler is also the latest Spider-Man character to receive his own spinoff film, following 2018's Venom, 2022’s Morbius, 2023’s Kraven the Hunter and 2024’s Madame Web.

Glover once led a campaign to play Spider-Man, later appearing in 2017's Spider-Man: Homecoming as Aaron Davis, a Queens man involved in a high-tech weapons deal with henchmen of supervillain, Vulture, played by Michael Keaton. Davis, is also known as the uncle of Miles Morales, a Black and Latino teenager introduced to Marvel Comics in 2011, who eventually becomes Spider-Man. In 2015, Glover voiced Morales in Disney XD series Ultimate Spider-Man.

As Glover's FX series Atlanta ended in the fall, he'll next appear opposite Maya Erskine in Amazon Prime series Mr. and Mrs. Smith, which he co-created and executive produces.
