A couple in Charlotte, North Carolina was scammed out of hundreds of dollars after they tried purchasing tickets to a Dave Chappelle show on Craigslist. Fortunately for them, the comedian had them covered.

Chappelle hand delivered tickets to the couple, Deidra and Eddie Dickens, and spoke with them while they were at the Omni Charlotte Hotel restaurant. He also took pictures with other people present.
“It’s good that people know always get your tickets from reliable sources and take any opportunity that’s presented to you to be kind especially if it’s something easy to do,” Chappelle said in an interview with WBTV.
Dickens told WBTV that Eddie loves Chappelle and had thought to get him tickets for the comedian’s Valentine’s Day comedy show. Unfortunately, she missed her opportunity to purchase them at the box office and resorted to Craigslist to find tickets.
Dickens came across four tickets and purchased all of them, wanting to invite another couple for the show.
“They said they were available. The person said they could provide proof of purchase so I was like ‘great,'” Dickens explained.
However, after transferring $500 to the seller through Apple Pay, the seller never transferred the tickets and stopped communicating with her.
Fortunately, everything worked out in the end.
