Here's How Chris Rock Got Gerald Levert And ODB On His 'Bigger & Blacker' Album

The hour-long conversation finds comedians Chris Rock and Hannibal Buress speaking on a number of subjects on the latter's Handsome Rambler podcast.

One of the most notable moments of the conversation was Rock talking about his comedy album Bigger & Blacker, and how Gerald Levert and Ol' Dirty Bastard ended up appearing on the release.

"Gerald Levert just happened to be in the studio upstairs," Rock said, referring to the artist's guest vocals on the song "No Sex (In the Champagne Room)." "We recorded the album at the same spot where Tupac got shot...Ol' Dirty Bastard's on the album, he just happened to be up the stairs recording and we got him on a sketch. He did this thing called 'ODB Words of Wisdom.'"

"I partied with ODB," Rock continued. "On my record, he's so high that we had a sketch for him to do and he was just so f**ked up. But he was on the mic for 12 minutes just saying s**t so we took that stuff and we edited it down."

But the story does not end there. Once ODB finished contributing to the album, Rock returned the favor by appearing on the rapper's The Neptunes-produced track "Ni**a Please."

"Pharrell and Chad were upstairs...the album is so amazing," Rock said.

The rest of the chat features Rock speaking on who he last saw perform (Frank Ocean at FYF Fest), as well as a show in Chicago where Martin Lawrence opened up for him and ended up stealing the show.
