The five-track release is a nice introduction to the soul singer.

KONA has released her debut project UNCANNY, a five-song release that showcases the soul singer's sound and versatility.

"My life changed April 24th, 2017. You mean the world. I feel truly validated, I now know why I'm here and I've begun my journey to preserve your legacy. I have no expectations, but my heart is open. I dug deep in attempts to put my truest self forward...The most accurate way to display the heart you gave to me. Though the more I try, the more I find, the results seem to be, Uncanny," KONA wrote, the words serving as a foreward to the EP.

A part of the release is the standout song "Working Woman," the video to which we premiered. The visuals show KONA as she tries to woo a woman (KONA's girlfriend) who she likes, ultimately leading to dance battle between the two.

"'Working Woman' was written because I was feeling looked over by a girl that I saw a lot of potential in at the time. Zack [Villere] originally sent the beat in a batch of things that he wasn't using for his album Little World and I instantly connected with it," Kona said. "Fast forward a few months and the girl who was overlooking me is now my girlfriend, and the leading lady in the video."
