Watch London Singer Ama Lou's Tryptic Visual for "DDD"

British singer Ama Lou just released a cinematic short film to accompany the release of her debut EP, DDD.

DDD the film (which stands for dawn, day, and dusk) is a tryptic of visual parts attached to the soundtrack of the three part project of the same name. The film, written and directed by Ama herself and shot by her sister Mahalia John, follows a young woman (played by Ama) involved in a Los Angeles crime ring and chronicles their journey over the course of one day.

The project delves deeper into Lou's creative world. “I produced the EP as a score to the film which I had already conceptualized beforehand,” she says.

Following the success of a joint tour with fellow British artist Jorja Smith, Lou snagged an endorsement from Drake. The singer is on the rise.
