Watch Unknown Mortal Orchestra's Weird & Wild New Video For "Can't Keep Checking My Phone"

If you've been following the trajectory of Kiwi psych-funk outfit Unknown Mortal Orchestra, then you already know that the group is basically beyond categorization. Visually, sonically, the band, led by singer/guitarist/creative force Ruban Nielson, is something of a musical amoeba, shifting and morphing r&b, funk, soul, prog rock and virtually any discipline under the sun into their very own, very distinctive sound. Today they've unleashed a new video for the lead-off single from their critically-cherished Multi-Love LP, "Can't Keep Checking My Phone," which for lack of a better description, flips through psychological ailments and experiences in a crystalline, albeit moderately discomforting, set of visuals. The disco-ish vibes of the cut, paired with the technophobe sentiments of the lyrics, makes this offering a perfect, yet wholly subversive marriage of sound and sight. Watch Unknown Mortal Orchestra's weird and wild new clip for "Can't Keep Checking My Phone" below and grab a copy of their Multi-Love LP on iTunes to hear what all that fuss & fuzz is about.
