Okayplayer x Red Bull Sound Select Present: Syd, Ravyn Lenae, St. Beauty and D∆WN Live in Philly
Fans of the site, whether devout board-locked or more casual and RSS-based, know where it all began for us. Okayplayer was founded in the great city of Philadelphia all the way back in 1999, our office tucked into the wings of the famed Electric Factory. And while we currently reside in The Republic of Brooklyn, we're headed back to our hometown haunts with the fine folk of Red Bull Sound Select for a one night of boundary-blurring musical merriments.

On Saturday, October 14th, “3 Days in Philly” will culminate in a special Okayplayer curated R&B show at the Trocadero Theatre with a star-studded line-up of ear-grabbing, heart-healing sounds from headliner Syd, St. Beauty, Ravyn Lenae and D∆WN.
Syd, the lead vocalist of The Internet, has had a banner year, having released her full length, self-titled album “Fin” in February. Ravyn Lenae is a smooth contemporary R&B artist known for her atmospheric tracks that feature her spare, poetic lyrics; she is currently supporting the launch of her 6-track March EP “Midnight Moonlight.” St. Beauty comprises singers Alexe Belle and Isis Valentino of Atlanta who met while working in a vintage store in their native Atlanta, layering honey-drenched melodies over emotional lyrics that delve into the themes of life and love. Powerhouse, D∆WN Richard will open the show with her incredible skill set and soulful aura.
The Okayplayer curated show is during day 3 of Red Bull Sound Select's 3 Days in Philly concert series, which also features performances fromGirlpool, The Dove & The Wolf and Queen of Jeans on Thursday, October 12th, as well as Noname,Andrea Valle and Brianna Cash the following evening, Friday, October 13th.
