One week from today, on Monday February 13th, the annual Philip Glass-curated benefit concert for Tibet House will be taking place at Carnegie Hall (heard of it?). Along with his art/rockstar homies Laurie Anderson and Lou Reed, Glass will be joined by OKP favorites James Blake, Das Racist and Rahzel of the Legendary Roots Crew (heard of 'em?). Since the annual benefit concert has become famous for the more or less spontaneous onstage collaborations (Philip Glass and Flaming Lips, for instance--not to mention The Roots with blues legend Taj Mahal) that have taken place in past years, there is at least a possibility that attendees will be seeing the godfather of beatboxery rendering "Limit to Your Love" as vocal noize (note to universe). Maybe, maybe not. But just in case, the Okayplayer/Okayafrica crew will be on hand next week to record the rehearsal's for Monday's show, so check this space for video the morning of the event (and forget about seeing footage of the actual show--it's Carnegie Hall, y'all. Sorry). Find the flyer with full details after the jump and purchase tickets (includes dinner) at www.tibethouse.us.
