James Fauntleroy's Shuggie Otis Rework Is Pure "Magic"
James Fauntleroy's Shuggie Otis Rework Is Pure "Magic"

James Fauntleroy Puts His Spin On A Shuggie Otis Classic And It's Pure "Magic"

I warned you. James Fauntleroy is a madcap music man possessed. Just yesterday, I was barely able to write a few hundred words for not on or two, but three new cuts that have landed on his Soundlcoud page in just the past week before he went and dropped another. And now today, we've got a special treat, perhaps the cleanest and most filled out drop yet in "Magic." The old-soul heads will readily identify the groove as the base for psychedelic soul pioneer Shuggie Otis' flagship single "Aht Uh Mi Hed", but with Fauntleroy in the mix, he takes those vintage bones and updates them with his effected, slightly-phased croon, proving that a ballad so sonically sturdy can hold just about any voice and sound as strong and lovely today as it did in the proto-disco age. And while, we're hoping Fauntleroy will just go and drop an album already instead of flooding his page with these little gems, as long as he's up to the challenge, we'll be right there waiting for the next loosie to pop up. Hear James Fauntleroy's syrupy rework "Magic" down below and hold tight, as there's bound to be a new joint by day's end.
