Ennio Morricone is likely the most prolific and legendary composer of film scores the world over, being credited for writing over 500 scores for motion pictures and television. As an individual who rarely performs outside of the acoustic temples in which his masterful compositions are pieced together, the mere mention of a live performance should send the music world into a mad frenzy. And so on March 20th in LA and the 23rd in Brooklyn, the great composer will grace the coasts with performances comprised of an unfathomable 200 member orchestra and chorale. Let the frenzy ensue.

The man who wrote his first compositions at 6, wrote notorious scores for films like The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, A Fistful Of Dollars and Once Upon A Time In The West; scores that were as narrative as the films they accompanied and helped cement the place of the "Spaghetti Western" in our own film vernacular (Quentin Tarantino has utilized aspects of his scores in several of his own films, usually sampled.) Morricone is the type of creative animal thats written over 100 classical pieces alongside those scores throughout the years, many of which have become staples in American pop iconography and have solidified him alongside Henry Mancini as one of the greatest composers of a century. If you lay your head on either coast, make sure you get to Brooklyn or LA to catch the epic spectacle of an 83 year-old Ennio Morricone performing with a small army of orchestral players and chorale singers.
