On Friday, May 1st, Red Bull Music Academy will be celebrating the countless innovations African musicians and producers have contributed to the beautifully strange and ever-changing world of electronic music with a party that honors some of the continent's brightest talents (some for their very first stateside appearances.) Electronic Africa gathers the likes of South African selectors DJ Spokoand Nozinja, as well as EEK and frontman Islam Chipsy, with added support from Brooklyn's own Chief Boima, Dubbel Dutchand Angolan vocalist and dancer Titica.
