2014 shall mark the return of Dr. Funkenstein with George Clinton's newest incarnation as part of the West Coast funk collective Thang. Starchild's been on a bit of a hiatus as of late, but according to Thang's Kickstarter campaign the forefather of funk is getting back on the one with the group's Summer 2014 release We Come In Peace. While we can't say exactly what it sounds like yet, the most compelling aspect of his return is the next chapter in the boundless P-Funk mythology saga, illustrated by OG Parliament cover artist Overton Loyd. 

For those devout to the P-Funk storyline, this next chapter will focus on Sir Nose D’Voidoffunk's return and collusion with the Illuminosey to render the planet devoid of funk (get it) and the subsequent intergalactic battle that ensues. We'll have to wait a bit longer for some material from the new project, but you can expedite that process by donating to the Kickstarter campaign and getting the opportunity to get in on some pretty righteous incentives.
