Donate To Help Blood Orange Rebuild After Devastating Fire

Friends and fans of Dev Hynes aka Blood Orange have joined forces to raise funds for the singer/songwriter/producer to help him recover from a devastating apartment fire this week, which claimed irreplaceable personal affects, music and production equipment. The fire also claimed the life of his dog Cupid, for whom his latest project was named. The fire struck just weeks after the release of his Cupid Deluxe LP. The family of Hynes' girlfriend and frequent collaborator Samantha Urbani have responded to the tragedy by organizing the "Help Dev" campaign, which allows anyone interested in lending a hand to donate to the singer online. The campaign launched by Samantha's mother Robin Urbani reached it's modest goal of $5,0000 in just two hours. The funds raised are presently creeping toward the $20K mark. Dev's manager Imogene Strauss issued a statement in response to the outpouring of support:

Dear All,

I wanted to reach out and thank everyone for reaching out to support Dev today. It means so much to him during this shocking and incredibly difficult time.

Dev lost a lot last night - his music, instruments, notebooks, computers, books, clothes, sentimental belongings and his darling puppy Cupid.. and the list goes on. But the love that you have all shown is proof that not all is lost. He is going to rebuild. Knowing that all of you are there for him and care about him is very comforting.

Let's remember the spirit of giving and keep the momentum going to help Blood Orange get back on his feet properly this holiday season. Donate to the "Help Dev" campaign via GoFundMe. Purchase the Cupid Deluxe LP via iTunes.
