Pass The Popcorn: PBS To Air Documentary On 'Hamilton' The Musical This Fall
With the success of Lin-Manual Miranda'a Hamilton: An American Musical reaching ChorusLine-in-1975 levels over the last year, it's about time for the cast and crew's close up.
This fall Miranda & Co. will get just that when PBS -- the low-key keeper of righteously free dopeness -- airs a new documentary on the show's journey to opening day on Broadway. The doc will feature unprecedented access to Miranda, compiling interviews, footage of production and cast endeavors to Philly and DC into one feature-length doc that should provide a keen eye into one of this decade's most revolutionary broadway productions.
The documentary was announced during the Television Critics Association Press Tour, capping off a brilliant year for Miranda, who managed to trick the world into a necessary and proper history lesson, decked out in grand hip-hop suites and movements, helmed, of course, by Miranda and the mighty Roots crew, the cast recording for which has gone on to be nominated for Best Musical Theater Album at this year's Grammys.
