Okayafrica Video: The Very Best “Kondaine” f/ Seye

Following their Weezy-esque clip in the streets of Nairobi, The Very Best and newcomer UK/Nigerian Seye head to the countryside where they down a hallucinogenic “Kondaine” concoction with Turkana tribesmen and proceed to trip the fuck out. A goat is slaughtered in a sacrificial ceremony (fairly graphic footage of that. by the way, a warning for the weak stomachs) which turns Johan, Esau and Seye into the same four-legged mammal. “Following their Weezy-esque clip in the streets of Nairobi”….streets of Nairobi?…SERIOUSLY?have you even been to Nairobi…the video is very well shot in Nairobi,in a SLUM, and not in the streets,i mean how ignorant are you people anyway???

  I have been to Nairobi, and that certainly looks like Kibera to me, which i believe is part of Nairobi. You can’t expect people outside Kenya to know the different areas of the city and you can’t expect an artist or publication to only show the parts of the city that you’d personally like to see represented. Slumdog Millionaire was set/filmed in Dharavi but it its still part of Mumbai/Bombay (whether the rest of Mumbai likes it or not).
