Video: Nas x Anthony Hamilton - "World's an Addiction" Live On Conan

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

Nas and Anthony Hamilton join forces on this live rendition of the epic "World's An Addiction" off Nasir's LP-of-the-year contender Life Is Good. Not necessarily my personal favorite off the album but in my mind, that just underscores what a thorough record it is--I have no doubt Life Is Good will still be spawning new singles, videos and TV performances a year from now, Dutty Rock-style. It also might be the best example of the overarching influence of Marvin Gaye (in general--and his LP Here, My Dear in particular) on the new, grown-man Nas that fully emerged on this record (even though the overarching influence on his red leather fashion choices appears to be Tracey Morgan impersonating Eddie Murphy. Had to be said.). If "World's An Addiction" is not a twist on Marvin's "The World Is Rated X" I don't know what it is. Which is probably why he had to bus tout his opulent phone and call up a singer of genuine soul music to lay down the hook. Anthony definitely puts the HAM back in Hamilton with this cameo, which brings us to the only real reason to watch this clip: you can't really be mad at any stage with Nas and Anthony Hamilton on it.
