M.I.A. Drops New Surprise Track "CanSeeCanDo"

Well this sure is a nice surprise. With only the briefest of advance warnings, M.I.A. has dropped a brand new track, a rough and aggressive dancehall number entitled "CanSeeCanDo." Over a deep half-time drum track and undulating bass, the Sri Lankan singer belts more of the personal-political stylings that she's become known for, making "CanSeeCanDo" a perfect piece for those who fell in love with the early M.I.A. sound.

The track was released with the accompanying message "DEMOCRACY CONVERSATIONS ! TAMILS ARE STILL WAITING ! AND NO MY BEATS ARE NOT BETTER WITHOUT MY POLITICX," so it seems there's no talking Ms. Arulpragasam off of her socio-soapbox. Still, all rhetoric aside the track bangs from front to back and is more than welcome on what otherwise might have been an all-too-tranquil Saturday. M.I.A. had originally teased on twitter this morning that she was ready to release a different track, "All My People," but it seems that one will remain on hold for the time being. New music seems to be all set for summer, according to another tweet:
