Throwback Thursday: Kwabs - "Sometimes I Feel Like A Motherless Child" Live At Buckingham Palace, Ca. 2010

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

UK singer Kwabs took his powerhouse vocal to Buckingham Palace in 2010 to perform "Sometimes I Feel Like A Motherless Child" for a host of notable guests, including Prince Harry of Great Britain. The footage pulled from the BBC program Goldie's Band: By Royal Appointment features Kwabs sporting his full name - Kwabena Adjepong - for the program at the royal palace where he belted out a stripped down version of the time-honored negro spiritual with a very spare accompaniment from the band on banjo and harmonica. Kwabs makes up for what the performance may lack in lush orchestration, with a wave of palpable emotion. The clip proves that while Kwabs is still a fresh face to many people, his earth-shattering talent has been making waves for quite some time. Check the footage below to watch Kwabs' 2010 performance of "Sometimes I Feel Like A Motherless Child." Purchase Kwabs' Wrong Or Right EP via iTunes. Stay tuned for more.
