Hudson Mohawke hits us off with “Sweet Silverskin” – another crazy track from the genre-defying Glasgow producer. Taken from a recent drop on MistaJam‘s BBC Radio 1Xtra Show, the track features HudMo‘s usual mixed bag of dope sounds that have found him beating up the festival circuit for quite a while now. His sound is truly the intersection of everything old and new – a stylistic balancing act that has led the young producer to play to capacity crowds around the globe and work with Kanye West, amongst others. “Sweet Silverskin” is the latest from his factory of bangers and rumored to be an unofficial single ahead of his next official release for LuckyMe. In a recent interview with NME he was asked when the album was coming. This is what HudMo had to say:

It’s going to be this year, definitely. I’ve been working on it for a while and taking my time with it. Every month or two I’ll go back and do another couple weeks work on it. A lot of it’s been me saying “Yeah, I’m definitely using that” and then I scrap it a month later because I don’t like it.

While the world waits with baited breath for some sort of smoke signal from the factory of the child-like emperor of electro-awesome, there is at least “Sweet Silverskin” to feed the need for more in the meantime. Check it. Rinse. Repeat.
