Prince's Ex-Wives, Spike Lee, Nile Rodgers + More Gathered For A Private Ceremony In LA
In the months since Prince's tragic passing, countless artists have paid tribute to the icon with their own takes on his timeless work. Neon Indian gave us a bubbling dose of "Pop Life," Mac DeMarco spun "It's Gonna Be Lonely" into a psychedelic spell, Haim went in with a cover of "I Would Die 4 U," and that's just the new guard for you. Stevie Wonder, Paul McCartney, Beyonce and Beck have also given us memorable salutes live in concert. Today, we bring you a new take on Prince's Purple Rain ballad "The Beautiful Ones" from rework specialists The Bad Plus, who put one up for The Purple One with a jazzy uptempo flip, that would make their fellow Minnesotan proud (though we can't necessarily say whether he would've approved of their inclusion on a new album.)
