LargeUp Audio: Cadenza Gets Wild In His New Video For "Foundation" ft. Busy Signal & Stylo G

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

With his penchant for dense island rhythms and progressive beatmaking, Cadenza (aka Oliver Rodigan) has become a new and very welcome face in the pages of Okayplayer. The young Britain-based composer and producer made his debut with a top-tier mixtape entitled "Foundations," and now a similar moniker has been lent to his latest video. "Foudation," the song, is a hard-hitting reggae track with just the right amount of upbeat shake to guarantee all bodies within a 5 block radius will get to shaking wherever it comes on. The new cut features assistance from both Busy Signal and Stylo G, and was brought to our attention by the great minds over at LargeUp. They had this to say about the track:

Hinged on a sample of the classic Real Rock riddim, the track mixes classic reggae/sound system vibes (including shoutouts to some classic dons of the dancehall like Papa San and Lt. Stitchie) with some modern touches in the bass and drum departments. The video introduces Rodigan’s vision for Cadenza as a place where Major Lazer-esque animated visuals collide with northwest London West Indian grocery shops and Saab convertibles. Watch it here, and if you’re feeling this whole classic reggae samples thing, you might want to check this out.

A bright taste of what's sure to be a wild, unforgettable summer, "Foundation" definitely belongs in your next party playlist, wherever you might be. Stream Cadenza's new video below.
