With his Radio City Music Hall takeover just weeks away, Dave Chappellehas begun to unveil the first of his special guests for the 14-night celebration of his 30-year stand-up anniversary.
Today, Questlove has shared a teaser trailer filmed in the historic NYC institution, where Chappelle aptly dubs the first four Roots-assisted shows as "Rootsapalooza" ahead of a roll call that lists all the aforementioned guests (The Roots, Chris Rock, Erykah Badu, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Childish Gambino, Chance The Rapper and more) along with recent additions Lil Jon, Ice Cube and John Mayer.
The Jo(h)ns, of course, were prominently featured in classic Chappelle's Show skits, though the precise date of their respective (joined?) appearances has yet to be revealed. Tickets for the nearly sold-out two-week run are still available, but have reached superhuman price points. So it may be time to call in that homie hook-upif you've been saving to for a particularly special occasion.
