The first trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story has been released, with the minute long clip showing Donald Glover as a young Lando Calrissian.
The clip showing Glover as Calrissian is brief as the actor wears a large coat and looks onward with a very serious face.
Last year it was revealed that Glover would be portraying Calrissian for the Star Wars film.
Shortly after the announcement The Hollywood Reporter released an interview with Glover, where the multi-talented creative recounted meeting Billy Dee Williams and talking about portraying Calrissian with him.
“I was like, ‘I’ve always felt like this character could do this, and he represents this, and I kind of feel like he comes from here, and it’s very obvious he has a lot of taste, so maybe he grew up seeing that from afar?’ Because I’m like that,” Glover said. “Maybe he saw it from other planets and was like, ‘I want to be that.’ He just let me ramble on and on, and then finally I was like, ‘So, what do you think?’ And he goes, ‘Yeah, I don’t know about all that. Just be charming.'”
Glover recently won the award for Best Traditional R&B Performance at this year’s Grammy Awards. He also performed as Childish Gambino during the awards ceremony, performing the song “Terrified” alongside his Lion King co-star J.D. McCrary.
