A Tribe Called Quest and Hiro Murai is a predictably proper pairing. For the latest video from We Got It From Here…Thank You 4 Your Service, Tribe enlists the visionary director for a black-and-white treatment of “Dis Generation” that is nothing short of eye-grabbing. Murai’s pattern-focused mind loops the camera through backstage and onstage moments, tying the venues together in a cerebral warp through millennial strengths and shortcomings. It follows their video for “We The People,” which arrived in the weeks following the album’s release. Murai’s 2016 was not as historic, but perhaps just as heavy, directing seven of the ten episodes in Atlanta‘s critically-adored (and award-winning) first season. He’s a longtime collaborator of the show’s creator, Donald Glover.
Watch A Tribe Called Quest’s new video for “Dis Generation” below and grab your copy of their final album on wax via The Shop today. And though it’s not quite the teased world tour (not yet at least) Tribe will hit the road this summer for a grip of festival dates, listed beneath the player.
