The Round-Up: Best Songs of The Week - ft. Devin Morrison, Noname, Anderson .Paak, and More [Playlist]

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

A fresh haul of glistening trap anthems, slow-burn R&B, and four-to-the-floor funk.

Though it's skim on the studio projects, this week's Release Day is a deceptively deep bag.

Leading the shortlist of album drops, Devin Morrison's Bussin' is the fix for any post-New Jack R&B itch. Kiefer split the difference between lush and lo-fi on his latest for Stones Throw. Louis Cole offered an extensive batch of live takes and demos on a new compilation for the Brainfeeder squad.

And then there's the singles campaign. Longtime Ariana Grande writer Victoria Monét finally joins the superstar on the marquee with "MONOPOLY." Brooklyn disco ensemble Escort got a boost from the legendary Brian Jackson on their new single "Ride." Cuco returned from the bidding war with a phased-and-dazed morsel of melancholy. Mac DeMarco's twangy north-of-the-border Americana burns in all the right ways on "All of Our Yesterdays." And Noname shared her second loose single since the release of Room 25. But that's only half the script.
