Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders has announced that he was running for president in 2020. Sanders made the announcement on VPR, a local publication. He then did an interview for CBS This Morning.
Sanders famously lost the 2016 Democratic primary to Hillary Clinton. When asked by John Dickerson of CBS what his campaign was going to do differently, Sanders said: “We’re gonna win.”
He also added:

Sanders will be joining a democratic field that is historically diverse; Cory Booker, Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren, Amy Klobuchar, and more have announced that they were running for president. When asked by VPR about being a white older man running for president, Sanders said:
We have got to look at candidates, you know, not by the color of their skin, not by their sexual orientation or their gender and not by their age. I mean, I think we have got to try to move us toward a non-discriminatory society which looks at people based on their abilities, based on what they stand for.
