Twitter has released their list of the most popular tweets of 2017; Despite the fact that he's been out of the job for almost a year now, President Barack Obama is still widely popular.

Obama had the most liked tweet of 2017. That Tweet was the one he put out a day after the terrorism in Charlottesville, Virginia:

This tweet was followed by the one pop star Ariana Grande put out a day after the terrorist attack at her show in Manchester back in May:

Right behind Grande's tweet was another Obama one, in which he honored United States Senator John McCain:

As far as the most retweeted tweets, that list was more eccentric. The list included tweets that touched on a range of topics, from a kid trying to get chicken nuggets to a tweet spreading awareness around the suicide hotline.

Notice anything missing? There is no hint of frequent Twitter user Donald Trump. None of his tweets are amongst the most retweeted or most liked. However, the President was the most tweeted about US elected official and the most tweeted about world leader. Scroll down to see the two lists.
